Rodney attended school in New York City and Boston during the '70s and '80s, studying Theatrical Arts in the areas of lighting design, set design, and performance. Over the years, he had other opportunities come his way, but it was an eye-opening stint at The Boston Center for the Arts where he was first exposed to the fine arts. Since then, he has admired and appreciated the fine disciplines to the craft. 

 

After living in Maine for 21 years, he relocated to Providence, RI and started to paint watercolors from places recounted from memory as well as current places. Rod has taken several workshops with professional watercolor artists from the Rhode Island area, including artists from RISD.
